The perfect introduction to mountaineering, this six-day program covers all the bases. Designed for those with minimal or no alpine climbing experience, you will finish this course with the skills and confidence to head out into the mountains on your own. The first 2 days are spent in rock climbing in Squamish learning the 'ropes'. The following four days are based in the alpine where we will cover the following topics: Use of axe and crampons, self arresting, snow and ice anchors, roped glacier travel, prussiking a rope, crevasse rescue, route plans, ice climbing, navigation with map, compass, and GPS, hazard assessment and weather forecasting.
Andre began climbing 15 years ago with a similar mountaineering course in Whistler. He feels its a great way to start forming good, safe habits, learn proper hard skills and help with sound judgment in the mountains.

any topics you like(crevasse rescue for example), and at any time.
